I’m Lisa Ray Koenig, an award-winning artist based in Napanee, and I create vibrant acrylic paintings that radiate emotion, spontaneity, and joy. I’m incredibly honoured to have received the Greater Napanee Arts and Culture Award for Excellence in Fine Arts, as well as the Best of the Bay – Best Local Artisan Award—recognition that means so much to me because it reflects the support of my community and the connection people feel with my work.
I’m entirely self-taught, and I paint intuitively, letting colour, texture, and feeling guide me. Primarily working with acrylics, I love building rich, expressive layers that bring depth and movement to each piece. I often incorporate mixed media elements, including collage, to add extra dimension and storytelling. I’ve also dabbled in watercolour, embracing its soft whimsy and beautiful, free-flowing nature.
My brushwork is playful and expressive, inviting you into a world where imagination leads the way. Hidden within every painting is my signature groovy cat, Felix—turning each piece into a joyful little “Find Felix” experience.
My work has been featured in CanvasRebel Magazine and Voyage’s BOLD Journey Magazine, and I’m grateful to see my creative journey continue to grow. I truly hope you enjoy my art as much as I love creating it, and that it brings a sense of happiness, curiosity, and light into your space.

I’ve also dabbled in watercolour, enjoying its soft, whimsical qualities and natural, free-flowing feel.
